Hamptons

Enjoying the day at the Hamptons. 

These are two spots I did for Travel and Leisure. 

the colors of the beaches there really struck me when researching. 

so vibrant, unlike santa monica beach. I love the beaches here in LA, but the good ones are hidden.

Maps are painful to paint, but always interesting to look at. 

One day I will have to visit this lovely place...one day.

ok, less drinking and more painting. 

no, thats not true. I haven't been drinking - i've been busy. and my brain is so forgetful that i truly live by the philosophy of  'out of sight, out of mind'. but thats by default, not by choice.

and since I had a chance to drink again :) here's another take. 

It's a second version of the black label. 

 

waiting in line...

I hear people spend on average spends 1/3 of their lives waiting in line.

from the cashier line at the groceries to waiting to be seated at a popular restaurant, to waiting in line to watch that anticipated new movie opening night.

1/3 we spend sleeping...

which leaves 1/3 (8 hours) to do whatever you want...

and most of us would be working 8 hours everyday so we can have money to get back in line and wait.

Griffith Park

 

Hung out at the Trails Cafe in Griffith Park with a friend. Had fun people watching and painting.  I gotta hike that trail to the Observatory soon.

 

 

Then, went to the Alcove for a nice lunch. busy busy there.
