black label 2

ok, less drinking and more painting.
no, thats not true. I haven't been drinking - i've been busy. and my brain is so forgetful that i truly live by the philosophy of  'out of sight, out of mind'. but thats by default, not by choice.
and since I had a chance to drink again :) here's another take.
It's a second version of the black label.

waiting in line...

I hear people spend on average spends 1/3 of their lives waiting in line.
from the cashier line at the groceries to waiting to be seated at a popular restaurant, to waiting in line to watch that anticipated new movie opening night.

1/3 we spend sleeping...

which leaves 1/3 (8 hours) to do whatever you want...
and most of us would be working 8 hours everyday so we can have money to get back in line and wait.

Jaguar E-Type

196? Jaguar E-Type
"At last, something beautiful you can truly own"  - Don Draper

This is an homage to Madmen. If you have been following the show, you know what this is about.
A Jaguar can save your life. Apologies for the blue subject, but this episode (show) is still fresh in my head.

Africa Map version 2

After the Map of Africa was published in the Travel + Leisure, I got an email from a man who saw the piece and wanted a painting of Africa, just like it - with some more animals... It was missing gorillas.
So I was commissioned to do this second version. I was happy with the final.

I've recently been working on several maps with John Sheppard over at Travel + Leisure. I had a blast working on them. Plus, it almost felt like I got to travel to these places...almost.

This first one was on Africa. It was for a safari adventure, and needed a map that fit that theme.
We went with a modernized version of those vintage maps with little animals on them. It was a full page spread, with the title above and call outs around the sides.

Went to check out The Baked Potato for the first time. Had a lot fun there. The music was awesome, and the singer was one of a kind. Mama-O had an amazing voice and a great sense of humor. She was able to keep the energy up in the room for the entire show. From her silly saggy boob costume to picking on the front row to hitting some amazing notes, she kept everyone entertained.
